Since the website launch on June 8th, 2026 the follow updates have taken place in July and August :
The website is intended to highlight the incredible success of thousands of schoolchildren and ensure that their achievements are never forgotten. It also shows just what an integral part of the English, indeed World, athletics scene the County School Athletic Associations and the English Schools' Athletics Association (ESAA) have been for over 100 years. World Athletics recognised this with the presentation of a rarely-awarded World Athletics Plaque to the ESAA at their Centenary Track and Field Championships in July 2025.
The website is divided into 6 main sections, namely :
There are over 1,500 pages of information in the website.
The County Success section provides Rolls of Honour and ESAA Medallists documents for the 46 counties. I have been sending these documents to the County School Associations for the past 3 years with a significant number of the counties displaying them on their websites. Not every Association has a website so I felt it would be good to have them all available in this section. Almost every former ESAA medallist in an individual event since 1925 can now find his or her name in the Medallists document ot the county or counties they represented.
The ESAA Success section highlights the success of ESAA competitors at the major Senior Championships and at many age-related ones. Their medal success at these championships is shown together with their ESAA medal success(es).
The ESAA Results Summary section lists the 1-2-3 for almost every ESAA Championship event. I say 'almost' as the only missing names are some from the 1932, 1937, 1946 and 1948 ESAA Track & Field Championships. I am still looking for the names of the 110 missing medallists. Over 22,000 medals have been given out since 1925 so it is a bit like looking for needles in a haystack. Almost every former ESAA medallist in an individual event since 1925 can now find his or her name in the document which includes their event !

The ESAA Champs Results section is sadly largely incomplete. I have pieced together information, from anywhere I could find it, to provide results and other details for the 1925 to 1950 Track & Field Championships. This section is intended to eventually contain links to all of the ESAA Championships since 1925 with as 'full' results as possible being made available.
The SIAB Results Summary section lists the 1-2-3 for the 2 SIAB events, the SIAB Cross Country and the SIAB Track and Field Championship. It also includes results for the Scottish Schools International Indoor Pentathlon (often referred to as SIAB Indoor Pentathlon) and the British Schools Indoor Athletics Championships (no longer held). The venues and dates of these events are also available.
The Miscellaneous Documents section is a catch-all for information not fitting in to the other sections. Amongst the more interesting documents are ESAA Championships - Pathway to Other Sports and Running in the Family.
The Pathway to Other Sports provides pen pictures of 123 ESAA competitors who have gone on to have successful careers in a variety of other sports. Many England Rugby internationals, Football internationals and Olympic and World Champions in other sports have made the list.
The Running in the Family document highlights instances of family members who won medals at ESAA Championships.
All of the webpages have 3 rows at the top.
The narrative associated with the section now follows. In most pages there are 'clickable entries' which are used to bring in other information held in searchable PDF documents.
Moving from one section to another is done by clicking on the underlined section name at the top of each webpage. All 'clickable items' in the website can be identified as being underlined.
Returning to this page from any other website page, simply click on the Home section name near the top left corner of the page.
Please note that this page and the About and Contact webpages have no 'clickable' items within them. All other webpages have 'clickable items' in them.
To retrieve the desired information in these webpages all that needs to be done is to click on the associated underlined area for the item you would like to see. In all cases a searchable PDF file is loaded and presented in a new tab.
To get rid of the PDF document and return to where you came from all that needs to be done is to click on the X next to the name of the PDF on the top line. If you wish to keep the PDF to reference later in your session, simply click on the page name in the the top left corner to return to the page (section) that you came from.
To search a PDF file
If the character string requested is not found, 0/0 will appear to the right of the requested characters
If the character string is found, 1/t will appear to the right of the requested characters where the 't' is the total number of occurrences of the character in the whole document. The first occurrence of the string will be highlighted.
To get to the next occurrence of the string, simply click on the 'down arrow' in the search box. The next occurrence of the string will now be highlighted. Note that the 'up arrow' in the search box can be used to go to the previous occurrence of the string.
To end the search, simply click on the X in the right of the search box.
To return to the webpage you came from, simply click on the X next to name of the PDF on the top line.
